Very nice house. Friendly and helpful owners. We had a newly refurbished room in a cottage with our own Lounge! Ashley gave us a lift back from the Bluebell when he saw us setting off to walk back. (food at the Bluebell was good) Nev cooked us a great breakfast. Good packed lunch. Highly recommended.

Superb accomodation, very nice modern rooms and en-suite. Very friendly owners gave lifts down and back from the pub in the village as they dont do evening meals unless arranged in advance. Pub in village The Blue Bell, landlord very miserable, food passable, wont let dogs in!!

booked for two nights for 8 walkers could have stayed for several more, excellent food and rooms ,they think about the needs of tired walkers and most rooms have foot spa's, not to be missed ,bonus points are the pub is 5 mins down the road.

Somerset House Farm, lovely, clean and very comfortable! One to stay at.
Ashley and Neville offered comfortable, fresh, clean rooms, power shower ensuite, and the offering to order from a menu of breakfast options - I was fed up of automatic fried English breakfasts appearing after 6 days walking! And also a fridge mini bar in the hall way!
I would also say how fantastic they were at offering to drive me to Danby Wiske ( after I had just asked if they had a local taxi number) to pick up a fellow walker who was too tired to continue!
Thanks Ashley, and Henry was lovely!!
A very friendly, accomodating place to stay, and one I will return to - even the local pub offered good meals for a fiver!!

September 2008.
Spacious room with spotless, well-appointed bath. A lot of work went into the refurbishing of this farmhouse and the results are excellent. Nice breakfast.

Nice house and friendly welcome. As others have said rooms are large and good bathrooms. Cold beers available! Very close to the busy dual carriage-way but suprisingly quiet once inside house. However is a bit of a walk to the pub for evening food.

Somerset House Farm, is a great, welcoming place to stay. Great hosts, very nice rooms and big bathrooms. All ensuite which is a must for us. The gardens are lovely. Highly recommended.

This was the best B&B on our C-C walk. Nev and Ashley are wonderful hosts. They've created gorgeous gardens and wonderfully attractive rooms. And, great bathrooms. Our room was the most comfortable, spacious and best appointed that we experienced. They were converting some outbuildings into self catering cottages while we were there. Can't wait to return and see how they turned out! They gave us a ride to the pup in Ingleby Cross for dinner and the stroll back was very pleasant.

We can't recommend it enough!

Huge rooms for a b and b done to a very high standard, bathroom very classy. Unfortunately very close to the A19, which was a major problem to me.

What a lovely House. Nev and Ashley worked extremely hard and the result is a great B&B. We arrived quite early and were made very welcome by Nev who made us toasties for lunch(much appreciated). In the evening he drove us to the Blue Bell pub. The room was large and very comfortable (even had a foot spa)with a lovely bathroom with separate shower. Breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend this as a stop on the Coast to Coast

Nev and Ashley, just wanted to thank you for the superb accommodation and hospitality offered to my mother and I when we visited N.Yorkshire earlier this month. Everything about the B&B seems perfect, but my mum particularly appreciated the hot bath water, and the table and chairs in the room. I liked the simple, tasteful furnishings, but particularly the breakfasts and opportunity to choose exactly the meal I wanted. We really felt welcome, and you seemed genuinely interested in what we were doing each day. I'm sure I will be back some time, hopefully doing C2C but meanwhile wish you both the best of luck in your various projects at Somerset House Farm. Very best wishes,

We stayed here in August 2006 and voted Somerset House Farm to be the best bed and breakfast on the Coast to Coast walk. Ashley and Nev have not been running the B&B for long but they have thought of everything.....the rooms were big with plasma tv and the beds were cosy, beer and wine was available and there was an excellent breakfast to start the day. We definately recommend this B&B & hope to make a return visit in 2007.

Excellent!! 11/10 very welcoming after a 23 mile walk. You might say too long of a walk in one day. Somerset House is one of, if not the best b&b on the coast to coast walk. Ashley even gave us a lift to the pub and back. The bedroom was big, very clean and even had a plasma screen tv with cable. Even had a big tub in ensuite. Nev's breakfast was superb.
Only negative was the road being so close but the gardens and views more than made up for it.
Thank you very much, highly recommended.
